Martin Q Larsson is one of the most prominent profiles of the young generation of Swedish composers. His background is within jazz, folk music and electro-acoustic music but also from academic studies of Italian music from the 14th century. He is able to compose in different styles of music and his works mostly refers to a musical language already familiar to the listener. African rhythms performed by a wind orchestra, ten different musical styles played by a saxophone quartet within five minutes, half the truth of the universe explained by a flutist, electronic processed sounds from an espresso coffee machine and sounds from computer games all this on the his first portrait cd.
