On his second solo CD the Swedish guitarist Johannes Möller plays his own guitar music (one of the works is composed in collaboration with Laura Fraticelli and one piece is an arrangement of an Indian song). Guest artists are the Swedish flutist Mats Möller and the Argentinian guitarist Laura Fraticelli.
Why Johannes Möller self-taught at the age of twelve started to compose music he does not know, but an outburst of creativity resulted in a large quantity of mainly chamber music works for various instrumentation. A selection of those where recorded on a CD with some of the top instrumentalist in Sweden when he was at the age of 14.
In his later teenages he continued composing but with increasing struggle, going through various compositional styles and techniques. It was not until he composed his piece When the winds dissolve for alto flute and guitar in 2006 that he found his personal voice. The world premiere of this piece that took place during the ”Iserlohn International Guitar Symposium” was received with such enthusiasm from colleagues and students that he decided to dedicate himself to mainly compose music for the guitar. Johannes has studied counterpoint and composition in Sweden, and at the Royal College of Music in London with William Mival. Later he studied with Richard Ayres in the Netherlands.
Johannes Möller was born 1981 and is now living in the Hague, the Netherlands. As a guitarist he has earned a Bachelor of Music with Honours from the Royal College of Music in London where he studied guitar with Gary Ryan and Carlos Bonell, and a Masters degree at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague where he studied with Zoran Dukic.
In June 2010 he was awarded first prize in the GFA Concert Artist Competition that was held in Austin, USA. In March 2008 he won the prestigious Dutch Vriendenkrans concours that took place in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. He also became the first guitarist ever to win the the Ljunggrenska Competition (Sweden) in 2007. In 2005 he became the first guitarist to win The Bromsgrove Festival International Young Musicians Platform (England).

När gitarristen Johannes Möller nu släpper sin andra solo-cd är det med helt egenkomponerad musik (ett av styckena på cd:n är skrivet tillsammans med Laura
Fraticelli, och ett är ett arrangemang av en indisk sång). På cd:n medverkar också gitarristen Laura Fraticelli och flöjtisten Mats Möller.
Johannes började att komponera redan i de tidiga tonåren, ungefär samtidigt som han gjorde sina första offentliga konserter. Strax innan Johannes fyllde 15 år kom en cd med en timme av hans kammarmusik (nosag cd 015). På den cd:n medverkade flera av landets kända kammarmusiker och ensembler, som klarinettisten Kjell Fagéus, gitarristen Mats Bergström, Stockholms Saxofonkvartett och Linnékvintetten.
Parallellt med sina gitarrstudier har Johannes studerat komposition. Här hemma för Lars-Erik Rosell (kontrapunkt) och Miklós Maros, utomlands för bland andra William Mival vid Royal College of Music i London och för Richard Ayres vid Amsterdam
Conservatory.
Johannes säger själv att han fann sin personliga stil med When the winds dissolve (altflöjt och gitarr), som han komponerade 2006. Stycket blev mycket väl mottaget när det framfördes vid gitarrfestivalen i tyska Iserlohn samma år, och Johannes fick direkt en beställning av av den kända gitarrduon Eden Stell – ett verk som uruppfördes vid Uppsala gitarrfestival i oktober. Han har också fått en beställning för Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. Flera av hans verk är förlagda.
Johannes Möller är född 1981, uppvuxen i Björnlunda och bor numera i Haag, Holland. Han är utbildad i gitarr vid Royal College of Music i London, har diplom från Koninklijk Conservatory i Haag, och tar ytterligare en diplomexamen vid Amsterdam Conservatory i januari nästa år.
Han har fått priser i flera gitarrtävlingar, och efter att i juni i år ha vunnit den stora GFA-tävlingen i USA har han etablerat sig i toppskiktet av internationella gitarrister. Han har tidigare vunnit bland annat Ljunggrenska tävlingen i Sverige och belönats med European Guitar Award för sina kompositioner för gitarr.
