In November 2000 a double cd with works for flute solo from the 20th century, played by Mats Möller, was released. The cd is an exposé of the evaluation of the flute and flute music from Debussy's Syrinx, written in 1913 as the first "modern" flute piece, to a new-written (2000) piece by the Hungarian-born Swedish composer Csaba Deák.

On the first of the two cds Mats Möllers plays works by Debussy, Varèse, Jolivet, Bäck, Scelsi, Berio, Rosenberg, Ferneyhough, Takemitsu and Tiensuu. The second cd focuses on Swedish music, with works by Morthenson, Grims-land, Nilsson, Welin, Eliasson, Sagvik, Karkoff, Maros, Möller and Deák.

The works by Maros and Möller are duets, where Mats Möller plays together with Stig Bengtson, flute (Maros), and Christina Sönstevold, bass flute (Möller).
