SHAPING THE FUTURE OF MUSIC...

...implies a new and innovative repertoire to be created. The music performed by the Stockholm Saxophone Quartet is mainly composed in close collaboration between the Quartet and the composer.

The Stockholm Saxophone Quartet has performed more than 130 works written for the ensemble by leading composers in and outside Sweden, as well as works by young music students.

SHAPING THE FUTURE OF MUSIC...

...implies a great effort to create and develop the endless possibilities for playing the saxophone, with different playing techniques as well as creating new ways of using the electro-acoustic tools.

SHAPING THE FUTURE OF MUSIC...

...also implies an educational responsibility toward the next generation. Taking on the role of educators, the Stockholm Saxophone Quartet works with young composers and musicians, teaching and developing and increase awareness and appreciation of contemporary music, including live electro-acoustic music.

SHAPING THE FUTURE OF MUSIC...

...finally implies to find ways to reach new audiences with new music. This work is not a question finding only a young audience, but also to establish the contemporary music within the "classical" audience.

The Stockholm Saxophone Quartet does not only perform in concert halls and broadcasting studios, but also perform contemporary music in schools, theatres, parks, opera houses, cocktail parties and embassies.
